Marisa and Val’s sunrise couples session at North Avenue Beach was SO much fun.  We parked at the end of the Lincoln Park zoo lot and then headed across the bridge over Lake Shore Drive to start our session. This ease of access is just one of the MANY reasons I love North Avenue Beach for sessions like these!

Sunrise Couples Session at North Avenue Beach 

One of the best parts of waking up early for a sunrise couples session at North Avenue Beach is that oftentimes you’re only sharing the beach with a handful of people.  You get to watch all of the beautiful colors that make up the morning sky and spend some slow moments together. The setting really feels magical and really adds to the emotion of the session as a whole. Marisa, Val, and I had so much fun here in the morning, frolicking through the water, skipping stones, and popping champagne to celebrate their love for one another.

Lakeview Couples Session

We made our way over to Lakeview for the remainder of Marisa and Val’s couples session after we had all the photos we wanted at North Avenue Beach. Marisa and Val live around the Lakeview area in Chicago, so when planning their session we knew we wanted to walk around town a little bit to document them in their space. I love the character that the buildings and alleys have. It really shows off the charm of Chicago and how every neighborhood has its own feel to it. 

Fun fact, I had my wisdom teeth 9 days prior and my mouth was still swollen all the way down to the base of my neck.  This session was my first time leaving the house since the surgery, and what a perfect way to get back into the swing of things! I had an absolute blast with Marisa and Val during their sunrise couples session at North Avenue Beach and I’m so happy I could document this wonderful love the two share for one another.
