Katie and Kyle’s engagement session in downtown Red Wing felt so homey and perfect for their vision for their engagement photos.  Katie and Kyle grew up with my husband Tanner in Red Wing, Minnesota, and more than anything I LOVE documenting some of these major milestones for those we are closest to.  

Engagement Photos at Barn Bluff

We started off their engagement session at Barn’s Bluff right at the start of golden hour. The only way up to the top of the bluff is to hike it which gave us an opportunity to document some photos surrounded by the trees. Once at the clearing at the top we were greeted with the STUNNING glow of golden hour. These two are high school sweethearts, so documenting their love and learning more about how their relationship has grown over the years was SO wonderful. We got a few more photos on our way back down the bluff for the rest of their session in downtown Red Wing. 

Engagement Session in Downtown Red Wing

For the second half of their session Katie and Kyle wanted to get some photos with some other iconic locations of their hometown. We headed to the Red Wing train depot which is near downtown, and right next to the Mississippi river for the remainder of their engagement session. We took some photos around the train depot and in the nearby park where we decided to bust out a bottle of champagne to celebrate this next chapter of life Katie and Kyle embark on together. The champagne sprayed ALL over Kyle as we were all cackling with laughter. Talk about a perfect end to a lovely session!
