For Hannah and Tom’s engagement session, the two had one priority in mind, and that was that they wanted to document the fun that they have together. Luckily for these two that is a vibe that I absolutely LOVE for my sessions. These two are truly the best of friends, so documenting their fun filled engagement photos at some of Chicago’s most iconic locations was a dream come true.

Hannah and Tom’s Engagement Photos in Chicago

When I say that Hannah, Tom and I were able to document their session in Chicago’s most iconic locations I meant it! We started off by taking engagement photos at the Wrigley Building next to the Chicago River. From there it was off to the Lincoln Park Boardwalks for golden hour. After an outfit change at the boardwalks we made our way to the nearby North Avenue Beach at blue hour for the final leg of their engagement session. Hannah and Tom were able to incorporate SO much of what I love about documenting engagement photos into their session. From the variety of locations, the outfit change from classy to more casual, and finally the pure and joyous love these two have for one another. Honestly I couldn’t have dreamt up a better engagement session for these two if I tried.

Deciding Where to Have Your Engagement Session

Chicago is a HUGE city with a lot of different locations to choose from when deciding on where to have your engagement photos. Hannah and Tom’s session is a prime example of this. Even with three iconic locations such as the ones they chose, there are still SO many more fantastic options out there. When deciding where to take your engagement photos in the windy city there’s a couple things to consider.

• What vibe or feel do you want for your session? More natural? More urban? A mix of both?
• If you plan on going to multiple locations (which I recommend) how close are they to one another?
• Do you want to experience golden hour? If so, are you ok going at sunrise to avoid the crowds, or would you rather tough out the crowds for sunset?

Ideally when planning your engagement session in Chicago you’ll want to have the answer to these three questions, although it can be tough if you don’t live in the city or know it that well.
