Brands I Trust as a Consumer

As someone who loves sustainability and also a person who tends to have interpersonal relationships with literally every object she brings into her home, my objects NEED to last. Using every object I own until it’s literally falling apart is a standard for me, so I put together a list of brands that I personally trust to share with the internet so you can have long lasting objects too!

My Top 10 Brands That I Trust

Jansport

Let’s be honest, almost everyone still has their original Jansport backpack from elementary school still stashed under the bed in their childhood bedroom. Mine has pink stars and I used it all the way through my mid twenties before unfortunately misplacing it during one of my moves. It was THE best backpack and it was also a hand-me-down from a cousin when I started using it which is CRAZY.

Stainless Steel Pots and Pans

Revereware is a super popular brand to thrift and if you’re a millenial you can count on your parents having at least one pot by this brand in their kitchen. Stainless steel pots and pans when taken care of are some of the safest, and longest lasting kitchen items you can have.

Patagonia

Patagonia has so much to love and they truly are a very durable long lasting brand. On top of that, they donate 1% to environmental activism, and put a lot of their profits towards environmental activism as well. They offer an off shoot of their brand that sells their products second hand called WornWear and they even offer repairs at some of their shops!

Menstrual Cups

This little piece of plastic is something I rely on every month and couldn’t live without honestly. It has saved me thousands of dollars over the last ten years on period products and will continue to be a staple in my life as long as I have a period. I personally love Diva Cups and I also own a Lena Cup. Why do I have two cups? Though you really don’t need to have more than one menstrual cup, I have forgotten to bring one when traveling before and I simply cannot live without it. My Diva cup is close to 8 years old now and it’s in perfect condition.

Little Tikes

Though we don’t have kiddos yet, my parents kept most of my Little Tikes toys from childhood and they are in near perfect condition. The only thing that shows wear is a sticker here or there. The durable plastic toys last FOREVER and you can almost always find the products second hand at estate sales, thrift stores and Facebook Marketplace. You don’t have to worry about pieces falling off and for indoor toys the colors never fade.

Pampered Chef

My mom bought T and I a Pampered chef stone as a wedding gift for us that we use at least once a week for pizzas or cooking and it is still in great condition 3 years later. We also inherited one of their stones that is 20+ years old that still works wonderfully as well, comes clean and is in great condition.

Levi’s

Though I don’t often purchase new items, I will purchase a good pair of Levi’s new. Their 100% cotton denim is built to last and when one day the jeans do start to give, I will patch holes in them until there is nothing left of them! My personal favorite are the 501’s.

Vintage Cuisinart

My husband and I have purchased a few vintage Cuisinart appliances and they are some of the most durable kitchen items we own. We love them, they work like a charm, they’re often easy to repair and easy to take apart and clean.

Hardwood Furniture

Though this isn’t necessarily a brand, I do love vintage furniture and it is SO reliable. As they say, they just to make ‘em like they used to! T and I inherited some vintage furniture from my great aunt and uncle and the quality, the craftsmanship is just unmatched. We will never replace those items and will forever be obsessed with them.

I also took to Tiktok earlier this year to ask the general public if they too had brands that they trust as well and the post ended up getting over 2 million views and and 19k comments. I’ve put together some of the top comments and split them into two categories, brands that create new items that people still trust and then items that people like to thrift that last forever.

Brands from Tiktok

These are brands that I have not tried, or have not tried recently, so I cannot vouch for them! These are brands that were repeatedly commented on my Tiktok post that I recommend looking into and doing your own research.

  • Vitamix
  • Patagonia
  • Birkenstocks

Brands to Thrift from Tiktok

  • Singer Sewing Machines
