For Matt and Itzel’s Chicago engagement photos, we knew we wanted to tell their full story. Matt and Itzel both tend to err on the side of homebodies. They love their cats, they love the city, and they love each other honestly more than I knew a human could love another human. When I talked to them on the phone prior to their session they were almost in sync in a way, always thinking and caring for each other.

Itzel brightens the room the second she walks in, and Matt is beyond thoughtful. I loved watching the two interact with one another throughout their home, with their fur babies, and then as they moved throughout the city.

For Matt and Itzel’s engagement session, we met at their city apartment where they love to spend time with one another. Their house was FULL of life and little facts about the two of them. Between their wine glasses, the games on their bookshelf, and what was framed on their walls, everywhere I looked I felt like I got to know them more and more.

We danced around their living room, drank mimosas, and just had the best time getting to know one another at their Chicago apartment. After taking photos around their home, we popped some champagne in the back alley of their place to celebrate their engagement and then headed out to the city.

Matt and Itzel had SO many great ideas for their Chicago engagement session. We started out by union station where they actually spent a good chunk of their relationship. Traveling back and forth to see one another before they moved in together, Union Station earned a special place in their hearts.

After that, we walked around some of the most iconic locations in Chicago. Starting with the Chicago Board of Trade building followed by Dailey Plaza and so many other cool spots. When walking around places like the Loop or really any location in Chicago, there are SO many beautiful locations. All you have to do is take a walk from one spot to another and you will find so many beautiful spots throughout.
