Adela and Michael’s wedding day was one that I adored documenting and am still obsessing over to this day! From their vintage inspired feel for the day, their priority on having a good time over all else, and their stellar wedding venue choice of The Hive On Hubbard in Chicago, their day was simply perfect. Come along as I relive their day and everything that made it SO special.
Getting Ready for Their Wedding at The Hive On Hubbard
I love The Hive On Hubbard as a Chicago wedding venue for a number of reasons, one of the biggest ones though is that couples can spend their entire wedding day there which makes their day stress free. As you’ll see that is exactly what Adela and Michael did. They each got ready alongside their wedding parties in spaces that the venue provides. These spaces not only provide the perfect natural light to work with, much like the rest of the venue, but also are made up of that same classic Chicago brick like the rest of the building, giving you the perfect backdrop for photos throughout your day.
Wedding Ceremony and Portraits at The Hive On Hubbard
Once ready it was time for Adela and Michael’s indoor ceremony to begin. The two kept things simple décor wise for their wedding ceremony, opting to let the gorgeous space of The Hive On Hubbard do most of the heavy lifting. It turned out perfectly too as their wedding day was beautiful, while also keeping Adela and Michael as the center of attention. It was a joyous ceremony from start to finish, and an instant party the second these two walked back down the aisle after!
We set aside some time for portraits with the wedding party where they along with Adela, Michael, and I headed outside to the streets of Chicago’s West Loop. Just yet another aspect that makes The Hive On Hubbard one of the best wedding venues in Chicago is its prime location. Not needing to travel anywhere for their portraits gave Adela and Michael SO much more flexibility for their day!
Dancing and Night Time Portraits
Before long it was time for Adela and Michael’s indoor reception to begin, and boy was it a good one! The vibes were immaculate from the moment they and their wedding party entered, with Adela and Michael celebrating with a little dance once they reached their table. The night was full of plenty of sweet and emotional moments including an array of speeches, first dances, and a moment for Michael to serenade Adela while playing guitar. It was seriously the best, and things just kept getting better once the dance floor opened up to everyone.
The Hive On Hubbard has the ideal space for an indoor reception so you and your wedding guests can dance the night away in comfort. Not only that though, but the venue also offers rooftop access, which we were able to use to end Adela and Michael’s wedding day with portraits of the Chicago skyline at night.
